"Stronger As One", N.E.mation competition short

This is my team's short that was submitted for the annual N.E.mation animation competition in Singapore and this year's theme was "Together We Keep Singapore Strong".
My team came in as the first runner up and I learned a lot about mixing our different skill sets and how to efficiently work together with the aid of our mentor, Ms Alicia Kho.
Our short shows that everyone matters in the bigger part to keep our home, Singapore, safe from danger.
I animated the roughs for the first 7 seconds of the animation closely referring to the storyboard drawn by my teammate and the explosion for the lion's hero entrance (also colored).
I also drew all the backgrounds for the short keeping a consistent layout. When coloring them I explored different color pallets and discussed them with our animation mentor thus, settling with the idea of using a warm color palette signifying danger and a cool color palette for peace.
I also helped with the visual development behind the short going for a comic/manga-inspired style, seen though the use of screen tones, word bubbles, and character design.
